STATISTICS
OF FORENSIC INVESTIGATIONS
Approximately 50% of the cases have been for plaintiffs while
31% have been for defendants and 19% have been for an
undetermined side in the matter. Historically, only 14% of
the cases investigated have gone to trial while 22% have
resulted in depositions prior to settlement.
Electrocution
or electrical shock cases have made up 46% of the investigations
and fires of alleged electrical origin have accounted for 30% of
the investigations. The remaining one-fourth of the
investigations has been spread over the categories of product
failures, electromagnetic fields, illumination, construction,
and lightning damage.
